Welcome to South Axholme Academy (09/09/2014)
Welcome to the new year at South Axholme Academy. We begin the year on a positive note with a pleasing set of exam results for those students who left us in the summer. Students and staff responded well to changes to the examination and reporting systems and gained the qualifications which they worked so hard for. Congratulations go to all concerned with these achievements; students, staff and parents. I wish all those students who left in the summer every success on their chosen pathways and look forward to seeing them again in November when we celebrate their achievements in our certificate giving and rewards evening.

We also welcome new staff and Year 7 students to the academy and hope that they quickly settle in to life at the academy. South Axholme is a fantastic place to be, and I am sure everyone, old and new alike will make the most of the opportunities that are on offer to them to ensure that they get the very most out of the time they spend here.

The coming year is particularly exciting for all involved with South Axholme, as we move towards the opening of our new post 16 provision. Whilst much of the work for this is going on behind the scenes, changes are already being seen with buildings and classrooms as we work with various companies to design what is already looking like being an exciting, inspiring and modern place to study.

Whilst all of this goes on, staff will be working hard to ensure that students continue to make good progress in all that they do. May I take this opportunity to remind you of the academy uniform policy and ask that you adhere to it, so that we are able to concentrate on our core business of delivering high quality teaching and learning and do not need to spend unnecessary time dealing with infringements to our dress code.

I look forward to meeting you over the coming months and working with you and your children.

We are seeking to appoint a person to work in the fully timetabled Design Technology Rooms under the supervision of Design & Technology teachers...
